Where Am I Going? – Venus Quincunx North Node

This is going to be a slightly more frustrating transit, so hang in there guys while I try to explain how to overcome the tension and work with the flow instead of against the flow.

Venus is the planet of beauty, balance, peace and luxury. She’s the divine feminine and receptive in nature. She wants to receive love and things of value. We get comfort and often monetary gain when pursuing things our Venus rules or resides in our chart. She rules both Taurus and Libra, so check those out in your chart.

When there is an aspect to one node, there is an aspect to another, so while Venus is quincunx the North Node, she is also semi-sextiling the South Node. This can cause a bit of a disruption and confusion, especially since the often ignored semi-sextile, which brings about a gift or a problem that needs to be addressed, manifesting something into the physical plane that forces us to take actions we may have been avoiding.

The quincunx is when we have an inability to keep both planets or points in our chart active at the same time. It’s a black or white mentality – “This or that. You have to choose.” The world doesn’t work this way. We live in a world of grey, not black and white. When you have this aspect in your chart, you have to learn how to balance these energies and keep them on at the same time.

When we put them together, this means that Venus, our desires and pleasures we wish to receive, feel like they have to be sacrificed in order for us to do what we need to do. We can either have Venus or we can chase our life’s path, the North Node. As for the South Node, this brings about some sort of situation, be it a problem or a happy surprise, that forces us to try and see things in a different perspective, that perspective being “We can both have what we cherish AND we can chase after what we need to do!”

Imagine someone who absolutely loves gardening, but they spend a lot of time moving and traveling. They need to travel for their job, so they sacrifice their gardening. They don’t need to! Aerogarden, for example, is a great alternative. You just have to think outside the box!

The 1 of Airs reversed here is warning us not to go through mental gymnastics and over-analyze everything around us. The answers are so much simpler than we’re realizing, and until we let go and stop making excuses for everything, we will continue to find ourselves in a mental block and unable to move forward.

Venus quincunx North Node and semi-sextile South Node will reach its zenith on January 31st at 9:32 PM EST.
